The Daily Ride
Two days of pushing around the snow. Damn thats getting old.
They say we are in for a couple to a few inch's over night.
Sunday was a 2 1/2 hour slog on very few trails. I rode the small network of trail twice. Real good resistince but crap for milage in this snow.
Todays ride was the same old loop as sunday. I only had time for one go around before dark. Once again, no light.
Back to the cross bike for a couple days.
Jordynn changed my speed kings over to some Michlins road slicks, just perfect for the snow.
She made me laugh when she aired up the tire's, I told her 116 psi. Poor little girl had to lay on the pump handle with all her might to pump these suckers up.
I think it's time to start the change over from woods to road for the start of the MTB race season. I'm looking to peak for the SSpalooza in NY on april 25. The course is fast and rollie with some root but mainly an all out sprint for well over twenty miles. I think road miles will play a huge roll in a good placing at SSpalooza.
Look for this jacket on a road near you.
Peace

The Daily Ride
Took out the cross rig again today, did about 25 miles in 1:45. I didn't really push to hard today with a snow ride in the trails tomorrow. It was a pretty uneventful ride,I like uneventful road rides.
Only one skidding car coming off Hopkins Hill Road onto Bates Trail. The kid threw the My Bad wave so I waved back and road on.
At one point in the ride, I believe Rt. 102 was my place of origin, my bottle gave me the wonderful flavor of sweat. I said to myself h'mmmm that's weird, It's pretty chilly and the only place's where there's sweat are my spine and place's below the waste. How can that taste so much like sweat? As I ride on I hit the bottle a few more time's. More sweat flavor. Then it dawned on me. The roadies flavor of choice ROAD SALT. Sure enough, I checked the top of the bottle after the ride and there it was the white stain of road salt. I guess cramps from sodium dephisincy were not a factor today.

The Daily Ride
What a mistake, yup I went for a night hike with the nemba crew last night. I never heard grown men cry so much about a hike. Who's leading, your going to fast. I'm burning up. When are we going back. Bla Bla Bla.....
I thought we were there for the exercise.
The one women did not say boo, she moved right along, as did pete and pete.
To be on the real, It was nice to get out on the trails.
We hiked out to NUTS, the trails had more snow than what I thought.
In the pines the snow was at the boot top, about 2 1/2 to 3 inch's. In the hard wood areas the snow was able to get to the ground, It was about ankle high on average. It would have been a constant push on the bike.
Once we got off NUTS trail I booked out on the nemba crew. I had to get home, The nephews were on there way over. I got back to the car at 8:45, I got home at 8:49.
Two and a half hours to put up a couple boards and hike to nuts and back. That took forever.
Well I hope too be back in the wood this weekend, If not there is the road.

The Daily Ride
Old man winter is upon us today. We have about 5 wet inch's of snow, the trails are going to be a mess. I think I'll try and hike with the nemba crew tomorrow night for a couple hours. Hopefully this will push some of the snow down to the earth so we can get back to riding.
This rest day gave me some time to see what was in the pile of parts on the table in the basement. What a mess.
So I dropped the bomb on the wife today about the NFG Build, Yup I got the finger.
Every year I spend the taxes on my cycling or skiing habits, Looks like the OT is a necessity for this build. I think I might be looking at using a few of the parts from the pile in the basement. That Sucks but I guess I can live with it.
Not really much else to note upon so I'm out.
Happy shoveling.

The Daily Ride
Let's go Bobby, hurry up. This is the greating I recive from Fuller and the Ledend as I pull in to pickle park. I hustle up and jump into the riding gear, throw the ear buds in, grab the camra, fill a couple bottles, finally I hear it. LET'S GO!!!!.
Yup i'm a slacker. On we go.
What a great ride this was, the pace was semi fast with a few stops." yup we had to wait for the 2009 #1 EFTA Single Speed Champion ****** Bo #1 Fuller ******** I'll show end result with a couple picture's that I snaped.
Notice the Legend is electrified and Bo #1 Fuller is realling his tounge in. LOL
Ok!I'm done with the #1 Bashing, back to the ride.
We had a lot of pushing, shuving, grabbing, blocking, can't forget about the elbowing and infamous tire rubbing that I am so well known for. I ate the tree line two good time's both due to the Legend and his patented block. We hit some good trail's like I see dead people, tea pot and nuts along with a bunch of other good stuff in between. The nuts trail game lives on for another day. Damn leaves got me in an easy corner. As we went on the Legend still has not dabbed, Let me take him towards something that is real tricky I think to my self. Finally the legend fell victum to the baby heads on the steep up to the bag of nuts. Damn pedal into the rock got both of us. It won't be long before one of us cleans this trail. We ended the ride with the sweet downhill to New London Turnpike. Check out this picture of the posessied pedalhead. Look into his eyes.
I had a great time boy's.

The Daily Ride
Today's Daily Ride was a nice 1 hour and 50 minute putt on the cross bike.
I hit the usual New London to Old New London Turnpike to get off the road and time out part of what would be my commute to work. I got out past Rt.102 and made a left onto ten rod road,(I'm trying to by-pass the nasty downhill to tug hollow) Making this left brought me way the hell out of the way. Approximately 4 miles. I don't think I saved much time there. I'll cross that route off the list of routes to work. I checked out Mapmyride.com and found a left at the top of the nasty downhill, this will be my next attempt. The ride at this point was 15 miles deep and I did not bring a light, It's around 4:30 at this point and I start to head back. The climb up the nasty downhill was a slight burner, weaving my way Thur the rocks and glass and what ever else the local scum bum can disperse onto the class 5 passable road. If anyone needs a box spring, mattress and a TV I know where we can get it. Well enough about the redneck scum, back to the ride. I had a chance to talk with Mike Montabono before my ride, I thought a lot about our conversation and who the best SS racer around is. I know who he is and I want that title. How do I get this title I ask myself. Pain is the answer. Find my weaknesses and inflict endless hours of pain upon that weakness. So I set out to find the feeling of that pain. I found myself feeling the pain but was this the pain that I need to feel to be the best. Not even close I said to myself, more pain push harder. I had been pushing for a bit at this point and saw the dirt road ahead and told my self push as hard as you can to the dirt road. While doing this I found that pain that is going to make me the best. I made my way Thur Big River keeping the push on. I hit the road and started my cool down. Damn did it cool down quick on the ten minute rode ride home. I got home and jumped off the bike in the yard, nearly hit the ground. That's how I want to feel every time I get off the bike. I Thur the bike in the hanger went up stairs to have my recover rite and eats. I through back a piece of pizza, A Turkey and cheese with let, tomato, onions a couple of kicker wings from domino's and some cheese bread. That hit the spot.
Till tomorrow's Daily Ride with the legend.

The week in a few words
So I've been finding it difficult to work ten hrs days, Ride, and blog. I really need to cut down on the OT. The only thing good about the OT is the extra loot. O the wife is going to flip when she hear's the extra loot is going towards the NFG custom frame and bike build. I'd like to say congraudulation to Mike Montabono (Darkhorse Cycles) http://rigidnsingle.blogspot.com/ and James Harmon ( Cycle Works ). Mike took 2nd place and James grabed 5th place out in AZ. @ the SSUSA Race. Great job guys. Way to put it out for the Right coast. So it has been some what of a chilly week, I felt as if the right foot has been a ice cube every ride this week. Today was a really sweet day, The boy's and I were able to get out with a group from Mass. and then I hook up with Dave for a bit more. My total time out today was 5 hrs and 45 minutes. It was nice to see the sun again all the OT has been putting me out on the bike after dark. This should explain why I have two chapped lines under my nose from the snot freezing to my upper lip like a tongue to a pole. On a different note of todays ride we encountered a part of a dead animal. During my ride out with Dave I was able to take a better look, Jim you are correct. It was the head of a deer. Nasty. Well Im going to leave you with a few pictures from this weeks rides.
